Dr Laura Florez-Perez is a Lecturer in Construction Management in the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. She completed her PhD in Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology, US, in 2015. She also received a MSc in Building Construction from Georgia Tech and dual BSc degrees in Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia.
She started as Senior Lecturer in Built Environment at Northumbria University in 2016 before moving to UCL in 2019. Dr Florez-Perez is the recipient of the 2014 Best Student Paper Award from the Construction Division of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE) and the 2013 Finalist of the Paper Award of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).
Prior to moving to the UK, Dr Florez-Perez worked as project manager in Pyramid Masonry in the US and as an engineer in Proyectos & Diseños (PYD) SAS in Colombia.
