BSSC student wins Best Use of Remote Monitoring Technology at the Building Innovation Awards
28 October 2024
Sachit Shenai, Construction Economics and Management MSc student won the Best Use of Remote Monitoring Technology at this year's Building Innovation Awards.
Sachit co-founded Invictus Robotics with CEO Osman Zuhayr, who completed his studies in MSc Entrepreneurship at UCL in 2023. Invictus Robotics aims to facilitate safer, more efficient and more sustainable methods of working at height across industries using aerial robotics. They achieve this through unique technology stack, Aerial Effector Robot with Adaptive Stabilisation (AERAS).
Comprising at the fundamental level of a drone with robotic arm, AERAS is capable of working autonomously at heights, whilst reducing more than 90% of costs, emissions and deaths in the construction, utilities and nuclear industries across various verticals and multiple applications. Work is currently focused on non-destructive testing (NDT) applications with their industrial partners, with capacity to cater towards jet washing, painting and object transportation across multiple markets globally.
Invictus Robotics were nominated for six awards at the Building Innovation Awards 2024, the most nominations for any firm at the event, and were successful in winning the award for Best Use of Remote Monitoring Technology.
Sachit Shenai said: “We are currently in the process of completing our MKII version of AERAS, whilst simultaneously looking to raise pre-seed funding. Upon completion of MKII, we aim to deploy with our industrial partners and showcase the powers of the technology to the world.”
