Together, we can engineer a digital future

Calling for ‘modern minds’ in digital engineering, Prof Tim Broyd's address on 01 November 2016 as President of the Institution of Civil Engineers 2016/17 provides signals of the city's evolving digital relationship and how together, we can engineer a digital future that transforms people’s lives and deliver a smart infrastructure that brings economic prosperity.

One of the hallmarks of the address was the recognition that ‘We cannot transform our built environment, without being transformative in our thinking.’ For digital engineering to deliver ‘disruptive change’, these need to go hand-in-hand.
