The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction (BSSC) is pleased to host Dr. Monica Contestabile, Chief Editor of Nature Sustainability https://www.nature.com/nrct/ to give a talk at UCL on publishing sustainability research in the Nature Journals. 

In her talk, Dr. Contestabile will provide an overview of the aims and scope of Nature Sustainability and discuss the journal's editorial practices that support transdisciplinary research, fostering innovative research ideas and encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration. Drawing on fields such as economics, policy, environmental science, and technology, she will offer insights into how researchers can enhance the impact and relevance of their work in these areas.  

Dr. Monica Contestabile will happily engage with participants through one-on-one meetings after her talk. About the Speaker

Dr. Monica Contestabile

Chief Editor at Nature Sustainability

She first joined the Nature family in 2011 as a senior editor at Nature Climate Change, where she handled original research and review articles across the entire breadth of social sciences, and interdisciplinary works integrating natural and social science disciplines in the context of climate change and global environmental challenges. Dr. Contestabile completed her doctoral studies in environmental and development economics at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy; she then held a visiting professor position at University Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, and subsequently joined the sustainable consumption team at WWF-UK where she gained invaluable experience about the challenges of bridging the gap between research and policy domains. Dr. Contestabile is based in Berlin.
