Research summary

My research focus on two things: a) Construct urban growth models using well-known far-for-equilibrium process such as Diffusion-Limited Aggregation and Percolation, and b) ask how we can characterize large metropolitan areas through physics concepts like additive and non-additive entropy and phase transitions, and ultimate, search for the underlying mechanisms that shape the current morphology of our modern cities.

I am a mathematician and computer engineer with a master and a PhD in Computer Sciences from Mexico National Autonomous University (UNAM). My doctoral research was (and still is) on far-from-equilibrium systems focus in urban metropolitan areas.  I have many years of computing simulation of physical models experience and IT techniques as well. I’ve been teaching mathematics, physics and computer sciences to math and engineer students for the last five years.
