Congratulations to Dr Foteini Valeonti, CASA’s latest PhD
6 October 2017
CASA extends huge congratulations to Foteini Valeonti who completed a successful viva of her thesis, ‘USEUM: Making Art Accessible with Crowdsourcing and Gamification’, on 05 October.
Foteini is now, we are so pleased to say, Dr Foteini Valeonti.
A notable thanks to her second supervisor – Professor Melissa Terras of UCL Digital Humanities. Mel did an outstanding job and the link between CASA and Digital Humanities creates a unique academic space that runs throughout Foteini’s PhD.
The internal examiner (pictured above) was Professor Andrew Bevan and the external examiner was Professor Lorna Hughes of the University of Glasgow – so a notable panel for a viva.
You can find further details of Foteini's company, USEUM (the start-up that formed formed from her research) at https://useum.org/ - an outstanding achievement for a PhD.
