The Bartlett Student Ambassador Schemes 2024-25

Student Ambassadors play an important role in inspiring the next generation of Bartlett students around the world. Discover how you can become part of the team.

Applications for all Bartlett Student Ambassador schemes are now open and will close on 3 November 2024.

Our enthusiastic team of Student Ambassadors play an important role in inspiring the next generation of Bartlett students around the world. 

The Bartlett Student Ambassador Schemes offer a chance to develop a wide range of transferable skills, including public speaking, digital content creation, and interpersonal communication. You will also have the opportunity to expand your professional network by collaborating with Built Environment academics and students across the faculty from diverse backgrounds. These diverse experiences will enhance your CV, and we can also provide an employer reference upon exiting the scheme.

The hours are flexible to suit your individual study timetable and you’ll receive training and support throughout your time as a Bartlett Student Ambassador. The hourly rate for all Bartlett Student Ambassador Schemes is £15.08 (plus £2.82 holiday pay).  

We have openings for two schemes within the Student Ambassador team, including: 


Student Ambassador 

Student Ambassadors will support The Bartlett’s Marketing and Communications team, particularly in student recruitment. Activities are varied, but can generally be classified under three key areas. You will be able to apply for jobs in any of these areas according to your interests:

Events support

  • Provide practical support to staff at both in-person and virtual events (e.g. helping set-up fair stalls, welcoming visitors, facilitating campus tours, giving directions, and assisting with registration).
  • Represent The Bartlett by offering advice and insight about the student experience at open days and other events for prospective students and offer holders, in an enthusiastic, confident and positive manner.

Digital content creation

  • Use creative video and photography skills to produce content for Bartlett social media channels including Instagram and Tiktok showcasing interesting aspects of your studies and student life at The Bartlett
  • Lead social media takeovers and Q&A sessions, primarily on Instagram
  • Proactively collaborate with The Bartlett’s Marketing and Communications team to pitch and develop content ideas
  • Attend events (e.g. open days, graduations) to capture content for social media
  • Produce written content for student blogs and student spotlights

Unibuddy

Unibuddy is a platform embedded on UCL’s website enabling prospective students to chat with student ambassadors. You can access the platform via an app similar to WhatsApp to answer questions about studying, life at UCL, and The Bartlett experience. This helps prospective students gain the reassurance needed before making their application to UCL. Your duties will be to:

  • Check your account regularly to respond to queries promptly
  • Help students find relevant information and contact details for courses/departments at The Bartlett

Outreach Ambassador

The Bartlett Outreach Team work to widen higher education access for underrepresented groups. Through collaborations with various organisations, schools, and communities, we engage with students aged 12-18 to raise awareness of The Bartlett and improve diversity and inclusivity.

Our amazing Outreach Ambassadors play a vital role in delivering these activities. As an Outreach Ambassador, your responsibilities may include:

  • Creating and delivering presentations 
  • Designing and leading workshops/taster lectures 
  • Visiting schools to talk about The Bartlett 
  • Sharing advice and tips to young students 
  • Delivering campus tours 
  • Ensuring events and projects are delivered effectively 

The Bartlett Outreach Team’s work focuses on promoting undergraduate degree programmes at The Bartlett, so we particularly encourage undergraduate students to apply. While postgraduate students are welcome to apply, please note that work opportunities may be more limited
