In 2021, UCL is running its Summer Schools exclusively online.

Each year UCL run a number of Residential Summer Schools for Year 12 students, offering a taste of university life and what it is like to study at degree level.

Introduction

This Summer School is a five-day course for Year 12 students from UK state schools who are interested in architecture. There is no fee for this course and students who are eligible to attend will receive free meals, activities and residential accommodation in UCL’s student halls. A place at the Summer School also includes the cost of travel to and from the course, plus any travel you may take throughout the week on study trips within London.

About

This year, the theme of the Architecture UCL Summer School Online is "Patterns of Living". Students will discover each other's daily rituals and undertake a critical investigation of their own daily routines in an architectural context through walking, looking, drawing and making.

Is it for me?

The UCL Summer School Online is open to Year 12 students from UK state schools with an interest in studying architecture at university. Before you apply to this programme, make sure you meet the eligible criteria.

If you have any further questions about the programme please email the UCL Widening Participation team with your query and they will get back to you as soon as they can.

Dates

Monday 21 July - Friday 26 July 2021.

How to apply

Applications are now open for 2021 and will close on 02 March

To apply, please complete an application form. Part of this form will ask for information about your parent or guardian, so make sure they are around when you complete it.

A teacher will be required to give an academic reference for your application. Please select a teacher who knows you and your academic record, and make sure to ask their permission before providing their email address in your application form. Applications without a teacher reference will not be considered.

Apply now

UCL aims to notify students on the outcome of their application in early May. Please do not email to ask about the status of your application, as this significantly slows down the shortlisting process.
