MA Graduate Helps Create Denys Lasdun Archive

Bartlett School of Architecture graduate Suzanne Waters (MA Architectural History/MSc History of Modern Architecture, 1990) has been praised for her work in helping to construct a new online archive of the work of seminal British architect Denys Lasdun (portrait above).

In this new archive, researchers will be able to browse the catalogue online and then also examine the actual drawings, photographs, models and letters at the RIBA library in Portland Place, London. Sections of the archive will also be used to create a website, Lasdun Online, containing a comprehensive catalogue of Lasdun’s projects with accompanying essays. His most famous projects include those for the Royal National Theatre, the 'Ziggurat' student residences at the University of East Anglia, the Royal College of Physicians, the Institute of Education, the first phase of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, and the social housing project Keeling House

Funded by the Graham Foundation and hosted on the RIBA website, Lasdun Online will go live in summer 2014.
