AY Architects' Camden nursery in AJ

16 April 2013

AY Architects Montpelier Nursery 1

Montpelier Nursery designed by The Bartlett's Yeoryia Manolopoulou and AY Architects' has been reviewed by Sarah Wigglesworth in AJ. Wigglesworth describes the Camden-based nursery as "...an enchanting and imaginative building that perfectly captures the needs of childhood."

AY Architects' design takes its inspiration from the secluded wooded setting of Montpelier Gardens, tacked away behind dense terraced housing in the heart of Kentish Town. The project was awarded an early years capital grant  for replacing an existing dilapidated structure with a new nursery building, following a successful application process coordinated by the architects together with Camden Community Nurseries. The new building is shortlisted for a RIBA Award (decision pending in June 2013).
