Kickstarter Campaign for New York pavilion launched
19 March 2015
Izaskun Chinchilla Architects, the practice of Bartlett MArch Architecture Unit 22 tutor Izaskun Chinchilla, have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to build their 'City of Dreams' competition-winning pavilion, 'Organic Growth'.
Built out of waste materials, the 95sqm pavilion promotes cycling and will allow 500,000 visitors to chill out under New York's biggest bouquet on Governors Island this summer.
The architects are currently working with 'City of Dreams' competition organisers FIGMENT, ENYA, SEAoNY, and Governors Island to refine the designs, obtain approvals, fabricate and install the pavilion on the island. FIGMENT have raised a portion of the project funds needed, but the architects still need your contribution to raise the rest of the money and buy fundamental provisions of tools and materials.
Those who pledge to support the project will be treated to rewards ranging from laser-cut pop-up cards, rings, cufflinks, bracelets and 3D printed objects.
