Issue no. 7 of P.E.A.R: Paper for Emerging Architectural Research, edited by Bartlett Lecturer Matthew Butcher, will be launched this month in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts (RA). The issue, titled Meaning in Material, will focus on how materials give architecture its form and substance, with implications on both conceptual and experiential levels.

Contributors include: Josh Brand, Matthew Butcher (Post Works), Mario Carpo (The Bartlett), Mollie Claypool (The Bartlett), Tom Coward (AOC), Adrian Forty (The Bartlett), Adam Nathaniel Furman, Jonathan Hill (The Bartlett), Guan Lee (The Bartlett), Eline McGeorge and Bob Sheil (The Bartlett) & Thomas Pearce.

A programme of talks organised by the RA Architecture Programme in collaboration with P.E.A.R will accompany the issue. These three events, taking place at the RA during the week of the 20th October, will interrogate the contemporary relationship between architecture and materials.
