About

This week, Theo Jones from Architecture MArch, Unit 11, is exhibiting two projects from his Diplomatic Bag series, in which both objects fold and unfold to conceal and reveal themselves.

The Diplomatic Bag

Travelling across borders this diplomatic bag carries the minimum architectures to establish a physical foothold. A quadrat was used to sample the border conditions between Switzerland, Germany and France for this project.

Unfolding a Home of Diplomatic Containment

Diplomatic jacket by Theo Jones
This State of the Internet diplomat jacket reflects the story and experience of Julian Assange. Julian lived, via political asylum, inside the Ecuadorean embassy in London for seven years. From leaked documents, it was established that Ecuador considered transporting Assange to another country in a diplomatic bag. For some time after this, the Met Police scanned objects exiting the embassy for heat signatures.
