Football in Denmark
Football
is by far the most popular sport in Denmark. Almost 300,000 men, women, boys and girls of all ages and abilities play football in local clubs.
The national team has often been very successful in European and World championship tournaments. In 1992 Denmark surprised everyone by overcoming
France, England and Germany to win the European Championship. After the final, hundreds of thousands of Danish fans spilled out into the streets
to celebrate the famous victory, and many are hoping for a repeat at EURO
2004 next summer.
But perhaps you'd prefer another team to win EURO 2004!
