Biography
Dr Adam Burnley is a professional astronomer. A childhood passion for the subject led him to achieving a degree and then a PhD in Astrophysics. He now works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at University College London (UCL). Adam's particular field of interest is hot, massive stars, both in our own Milky Way and in other galaxies. These stars are galactic movers and shakers, leading short, but eventful lives, before exploding dramatically as supernovae. Adam is also very actively involved in astronomy education, whether it be lecturing undergraduates, running outreach events in schools, or speaking about his research at amateur astronomical societies.
