Dark Energy Survey Book Launch

Watch the book launch, held virtually on 13th October 2020, featuring Martin Rees (Astronomer Royal) along with our own Prof. Peter Doel 
and Prof. Ofer Lahav and other book co-authors.  

The book “The Dark Energy Survey: The Story of a Cosmological Experiment” (edited by Ofer Lahav et al., World Scientific) includes 27 chapters written by 88 co-authors, among them several current and former members of the Astrophysics Group.  

The book tells the story of the DES project from original conception, the design and construction of DECam and early science results.  It includes chapters written for a non-specialist reader by DES scientists and a trans-disciplinary section, including inputs from a philosopher, an anthropologist, visual artists and a poet.
