UCL Branch Social & Networking Programme

We will be fixing the date for the AUA UCL Branch Christmas get-to-gether fairly soon so that you can make sure that no other events are arranged to clash with the Christmas Party everybody who's anybody goes to!! The excuse of "I've got a better offer" just won't wash and would, in any case, be quite blatantly untrue! Please let Fiona have any suggestions for this popular event in terms of timing or format.

Cultural Bloomsbury Breakfast

Avoid the no holiday blues by coming along to the next Bloomsbury Breakfast kindly hosted again by Wellcome in the Reception Foyer at Wellcome Collection. The Curator, Kate Forde will introduce the Collections new exhibition: 'Exquisite Bodies: or the Curious and Grotesque Story of the Anatomical Model'.

Where next for the HE Sector?

Professor Steve Smith, Vice Chancellor University of Exeter will give his perspective on the role of Britan's universities as he begins his new role as President of Univerisities UK. This will also include an opportunity to meet Nicola Dandridge, Universities UK's new Chief Executive and network over a glass of wine after the lecture.

2nd London One-Day Conference

As well as pleneary presentations, there will be a choice of workshop sessions throughout the day, followed by an evening wine reception sponsored by the THE. The opening plenary address will be delivered by Baroness Blackstone, Labour Peer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Greenwich.

This year the event will be restricted to 100 delegates, consequently places will be allocated on a first come basis. The cost is £85 for members until 30 September, after which the cost is increased to £95 for late registration. Non-members will be welcome, although booking forms (and payment) will be held until after 30 September as AUA members have priority booking. Booking will only be confirmed when payment is attached to the booking form.
