Dr Ali Baybutt

Alexandra has been working in the field of dance and performance since 2004 in the UK and internationally as a movement artist, educator, movement analyst, researcher and dramaturg. She works collaboratively and across disciplines of performance, writing, music and installation. Her first monograph 'Contemporary Dance Festivals in the Former Yugoslav Space' was published in 2023 with Routledge in the Advances in Theatre & Performance Studies series. Alexandra was a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies 2021-22, engaging in research on equity and embodiment, and co-editor of the 'Complaint' issue of Think Pieces with Dr. Lo Marshall (Bartlett School of Architecture). She is a registered somatic movement educator with ISMETA, certified Laban/Bartenieff movement analyst, and committed to life-long learning and artistic adventure.
