This book sets out to search for the Second World - the (post)socialist context - in dance studies and examines the way it appears and reappears in today’s globalized world. Alexandra Baybutt’s chapter focusses on a choreography from 2016 by Murić in the context of Serbia and its transition to state capture in which independent art scenes mediate everyday challenges.

Publised by Bloomsbury Academic on 31 October 2024.
