Marking Criteria
Marking criteria for BA, MA and MPhil Stud exams and coursework in the UCL Philosophy Department.

For essays, marks and feedback will be based on a range of qualities, including: Use of Reading, Argumentation, Quality of Writing, and Engagement with the Question.
The marking criteria of assessments other than essays will be specified by the relevant modules. For example, modules whose assessment is based on logic problems may provide model problems similar to those in the assessment, and model answers which would receive a mark of 100. As with essay-based assessments (see the marking grids), marks above 80 are also uncommon in technical modules.
