On 27 April, UCL SSEES Associate Professor Ramona Gonczol participated in the meeting hosted by the Parliament, MP Gareth Thomas and the GCSE campaign, on the need to introduce an optional GCSE exam in Romanian. Ramona spoke about the importance of such an exam and the connection between one’s heritage and the overall wellbeing.
Later that week, on 30 April, Ramona was invited for an interview with Euronews Romania to talk about the situation of Romanian language status in the UK and the GCSE campaign. She explained that need for such an exam and its countless benefits for the young members of the community. She also talked about the Romanian provision at UCL SSEES.
