4th March, 2-3pm. Held via Zoom.
This online seminar provides an overview of a multinational toolkit co-developed by researchers at The Alan Turing Institute: Human Rights, Democracy, and the Rule of Law Risk and Impact Assessment for AI Systems (HUDERIA). The HUDERIA methodology, adopted by The Council of Europe, is a multi-step governance process which provides concrete and objective criteria for project teams, public and private organisations to assess and mitigate the AI impacts on human rights. The methodology is comprised of four components: a context-based risk analysis, a stakeholder engagement process; a risk and impact assessment and a mitigation plan. The seminar will familiarise audiences with the main components and steps of the methodology and its anticipatory approach to protect the public and vulnerable communities from the potential harms caused by AI systems.
