Emeritus Professor Dennis Deletant OBE was formally inducted as an Honorary Member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova at an investiture ceremony in Chișinău on 23 June.
The distinction, awarded by decision of the Academy’s General Assembly in April 2026 and conferred by its President, Academician Ion Tighineanu, recognises Professor Deletant’s outstanding contribution to the study of Romanian and East European history. Professor Deletant is internationally renowned for his scholarship and longstanding engagement with the region.
