Dr Jelena Calic, Associate Professor in Serbian and Croatian Language, and Dr Eszter Tarsoly, Associate Professor in Hungarian and Applied Linguistics, have been awarded a grant from the Randolph Quirk Small Project Fund to support a new three-year research project. The sum of the award is £13,141.
The project's title is "Museums as sites of commemorating, celebrating, and practising multilingualism" and focuses on the tri-border region of Vojvodina (Hu. Vajdaság) in northern Serbia. It will be undertaken in collaboration with the SSEES Library and two museums in the town of Sombor (Hu. Zombor), led by Dr Calic and Dr Tarsoly and supported by a student associate.
