UCL Arts & Humanities subject areas recognised in The Good University Guide 2025

The Good University Guide from The Times and Sunday Times provides a ranking of Britain’s universities, which can be sorted by subjects. Six subjects based in UCL Arts & Humanities departments have been ranked in the top five, showcasing the faculty's excellence in these fields.
In this year's The Good University Guide from The Times and Sunday Times, published on 20 September 2024, several Arts & Humanities subjects feature in the top ten of the subject listings, with Liberal Arts (UCL Arts and Sciences) and Information Systems and Management (UCL Information Studies) ranked first in these subjects. Six subject areas based in UCL Arts and Humanities are in the top five.
- Liberal Arts, UCL ranked 1st (UCL Arts and Sciences)
- Information Systems and Management, UCL ranked 1st (UCL Information Studies)
- Art & Design, UCL ranked 2nd (UCL Slade School of Fine Art)
- English, UCL ranked 4th (UCL English)
- Russian & East European languages, UCL ranked 4th (UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES))
- Philosophy, UCL ranked 5th (UCL Philosophy)
- Italian, UCL ranked 7th (UCL School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS))
The Good University Guide from The Times and Sunday Times uses the latest data to measure for criteria, including student satisfaction, quality of teaching, graduate job prospects, entry standards and research quality.
The Guardian University Guide 2025 was also recently published, where UCL Arts & Humanities subjects ranked in the top ten of the subject tables, including English, Greek and Latin, Philosophy, SSEES, SELCS and the Slade. Find out more.
