On Thursday 7th December, we celebrated the contribution to the field of Professor Jo Evans, following her retirement in June.
We heard from Jo’s former PhD students and SPLAS colleagues, and from UK and US experts in Hispanic studies whom Jo has mentored or with whom she has worked closely, over the course of a brilliant career as a researcher and editor.
Key themes of the day were feminism, psychoanalysis, humour, and…dogs! Contributors presented research papers, a video-essay, and gave personal reflections or readings from published work
