We are delighted to share that Marta Jenkala, Honorary Associate Professor of Ukrainian at UCL SSEES, was awarded the prestigious Hvylya/ Dalğa Prize for her achievements in promoting the Ukrainian language around the world.
The award ceremony took place on 06 October 2025 in Kyiv as part of the sixth annual International Cultural Diplomacy Forum, which was organized in partnership with Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The award was presented by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Marta taught at UCL SSEES from 1999 to 2025 and she was the Director of the Ukrainian Institute in London from 2004 to 2010.
The Hvylya/ Dalğa Prize annually recognizes outstanding individuals and initiatives that have made a significant contribution to promoting and spreading the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages around the world.
