About the film festival
The School of European Languages, Culture and Society-Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry (SELCS-CMII) is pleased to present Nordic Voices: A Contemporary Film Festival.
The film festival will take place from 2 October 2026 to 4 October 2026 at the UCL East Community Cinema.
This three-day festival celebrates the richness and diversity of contemporary Nordic film. It will showcase recently released films from across the major languages of the Nordic region: Danish, Greenlandic, Faroese, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Old Norse, the Sámi language group, and Swedish.
This festival will promote the creativity of pan-Nordic filmmaking in the UK and provide a platform for students and members of the public to watch and appreciate Nordic arthouse, as well as shining a spotlight on student and staff excellence in both Nordic and Film studies.
Provisionally, 12 films will be shown across the three-day festival, to be accompanied by Q&A’s with directors, introductions to select films by academic experts, and a wine reception.
All welcome!
Further details on tickets and how to register will be published soon and prior to the event, including information on film screening times, Q&A’s and the reception.
