Heritage Speakers and Cultural Memory: Albania and Kosovo in London Museums
Join us for an engaging event exploring the representation of Albania and Kosovo in London’s museums, and the connections between heritage, language, culture, and collective memory.
The event is free and open to all, but registration is required.
Organised by the students of the Albanian for Heritage Speakers Group from the UCL SSEES Short Courses Programme, together with their Albanian language tutor Mirela Xhaferraj, the event will look at how collections and objects connected to Albania and Kosovo are displayed and interpreted in London museums. Through selected objects, discussion and personal experiences it will explore how these objects tell stories of identity, belonging, and shared cultural heritage.
This event is organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Albania in London and the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in London.
The event will be followed by a small reception and networking.
