Dr Alicia Castillo Villanueva is Assistant Professor of Spanish at Dublin City University. Her research revolves around cultural representations of gender and sexuality, conflict and memory, and the intersection of translation and memory studies. Dr Lucía Pintado Gutiérrez is Assistant Professor at Dublin City University. Her research interests are based at the developing fields of language education and translation, and the intersection of translation and memory studies. 

Their latest co-authored publications on translation and memory include the edited book New Approaches to Translation, Conflict and Memory. Narratives of the Spanish Civil War and the Dictatorship (2019, Palgrave Macmillan), Translation and Transcultural Memory in La voz dormida (2021, Perspectives) and Transcultural counter-memory and translation in contemporary Spanish fiction in The Routledge Handbook of Translation and Memory (2022).
