Reuse and Repurposing in Black Aesthetic Practices

This talk is based on Christine's book project Race and the Raw Material, which proposes that contemporary Black writers and artists refer to neocolonial practices of extractivism and historical modes of resource exploitation in order to advance a theory of race as a global, ecological, and formal category of hierarchical difference.
