EISPS Languages and Specialisms
Students select one major language and a specialism from the humanities or social sciences. A second (minor) language is optional.
There is a maximum of two languages throughout the degree. Two ab initio languages are not normally allowed.
When choosing a specialism and its combination with your chosen language(s), you should keep two rules in mind:
You cannot take more than 150 credits at Level 4 across the four years of the programme.
You must take at least 90 credits at Level 6 by the end of the programme.
You will be expected to meet the academic prerequisites set by our partner institutions in order to participate in their exchange programme - you will receive guidance on this during Year 2. During the exchange year in Year 3, you will take modules at your host university and complete preparatory tasks for your dissertation.
