Studying the ancient world
The study of the ancient world is interdisciplinary and universities have different ways of organising it.
At UCL, ancient history is in the history department, while ancient art and archaeology is in the Institute of Archaeology. We work closely with our colleagues in history and archaeology, and other departments, including Hebrew and Jewish Studies, Philosophy, and English.
We collaborate to provide an unparalleled range of teaching and supervision in all aspects of the ancient world and its reception in the modern world.
