Prestigious university with a good course for publishing.
What attracted you to study your degree?
I wanted to enter the publishing industry.
What did you enjoy most about studying in London?
London was vibrant and full of energy.

Studying in the common room with peers.
What advice would you give to current or prospective students?
Take every opportunity presented to you, even if it’s scary.
What is your current profession?
Marketing Manager at Duckworth Books.

- Overseeing marketing strategy and campaigns
- Driving publicity
- Author care and management
- Designing promotional materials – Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Managing an assistant who looks after social media (social media strategy)
- Building and maintaining relationships within and without the book trade
Briefly describe your journey, from graduating to where you are now.
I became an intern at Duckworth Books whilst studying at UCL in 2020.
I was made a permanent member of staff (Publishing Assistant) after I graduated. I was promoted to Publishing and Marketing Executive, and then Marketing Manager.
I have been at Duckworth Books for nearly four years now.

Gained essential skills, learned industry ways, built confidence to go out and get a job.
