Funding

Funding can be a significant barrier to those wishing to enter a field that urgently needs to diversify its workforce to bring a range of perspectives to bear on the care of the art and culture of our time. We are therefore actively working to develop partnerships with those who wish to support our work. As a small programme, every donation has a major impact. If you would like to discuss how you might support our students and our programme please contact the programme director, Professor Pip Laurenson.

We are extremely grateful to the Gabo Trust for Sculpture Conservation for their generous support for students on the programme with two half fees bursaries a year for the duration of the programme. These opportunities are available to students who wish to specialise in the conservation of sculpture and are offered to one international student and one UK student each year.

"I hope to contribute to developing dedicated conservation programs in regions where such expertise is currently unavailable, helping to expand the field globally. The Gabo Trust Scholarship has enabled me to focus fully on this important work."

"Thanks to the Scholarship, I have embraced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This generosity has not only removed significant financial stress but has also allowed me to focus wholeheartedly on my education and future as a conservator. I am truly thankful."

The programme is also one of the approved programmes for the Anna Plowden Trust, who have supported a number of students with grants towards their fees.

UCL East also has a dedicated scholarship for students from East London.

Our students have also been successful recipients of grants from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.
