Fore’s short introduction to his new book Soviet Factography, focusing on the politics of punctuality and collective chronometrics in the Soviet avant-garde, will be followed by a conversation with Steven Edwards and Stephanie Schwartz.
About the Speaker
Devin Fore
Professor of German at Princeton University
Devin Fore is a scholar of media and cultural theory whose work explores the intersections of the German and Russian avant-gardes with political movements of the 20th century. He is the author of Realism After Modernism (MIT Press, 2012), Soviet Factography (University of Chicago Press, 2024), and the forthcoming Mass Technics of the Document (Verso, 2026). His research spans literature, film, photography, and theory, and he has curated exhibitions and film programs in Chicago and Madrid. Devin is a professor at Princeton University, where he co-directs the Program in Media & Modernity and serves on numerous interdisciplinary committees. He is also an editor of October and New German Critique.
