Helia Marcal – History of Art
You will build your own photographic camera, take your own black and white pictures, and then develop them in our darkroom. You will learn the techniques from traditional oil painting, from preparing your own panel to mixing your paint and painting a detail of well-known artwork. You will be challenged to think about art-making outside the canon through an activity that contextualises the creative process within the realm of conceptual art. This activity is open to all students from the Department, but places are very limited.
Convenors (in alphabetic order of the last name): Dr Rebecca Gordon, Dr Hélia Marçal, Lisa McConnell, and Dr Tobias Preuten.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: Monday 24th May
DEADLINE FOR NOTIFICATION OF CANDIDATES: Tuesday, 25th May
DEADLINE FOR CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION: Wednesday, 26th May
