This online event will explore how artists have incorporated new technologies in their art practice. It will also explore how they critically assessed the benefits, ethics and consequences of incorporating these technologies in their art.

Overview
This event will provide insights into the application of emerging technologies and their use within the arts sector.
Through the presentation of art made by Slade graduates and alumni, and artists, the roundtable will explore how artists adapt and use technology in their art.
The session will surface how technologies can support the redistribution of wealth and influence across art networks and systems.

The event is open to all, including artists, curators, creatives, collectors, technologists, developers, academics, researchers and students.
What to expect
The event will be chaired by Kieren Reed, Director, Slade School of Fine Art and founder of UCL Art Futures.
This event will help you:
- learn more about emerging technologies and practical applications within the arts
- review examples of art created using emerging technologies
- learn about the ethical decisions in the creation of art that has adopted emerging technology and how considerations and thinking made by artist can be incorporated into art collections
- understand the benefits and concerns of using new technologies, for example environment sustainability, implicit bias, redistribution of wealth, copyrights, IP
- horizon scan of future areas of interest for artist working with emerging technologies
