Foundation and development of UCL Art Futures
UCL Art Futures was founded in 2019 by Kieren Reed (Slade School of Fine Art), Anna Donovan (UCL Faculty of Laws) and Jo Townshend (UCL Innovation & Enterprise). It was set up to facilitate collaboration with key strategic partners who share Art Futures’ values and ambitions, that is; championing a genuinely interdisciplinary and value driven approach, in an ethical, innovative, practical and inclusive way.
Since its foundation, UCL Art Futures has been committed to establishing a vibrant space for the production and cultivation of new business and research genres by integrating creative and artistic practices. In doing so, it has bridged gaps between industry and academia by fostering novel partnerships and consortiums, and increasing stakeholder engagement.
The recognition of a need for synergy across higher education and the creative, art and cultural sectors remains at the heart of UCL Art Future’s work.
