In the Heritage, Sustainability and Society BA, you will:
- Learn the core theories, methods and practical skills of heritage studies, drawing on archaeology, anthropology, geography, history and history of art;
- Apply your knowledge to pressing global challenges including climate change, sustainability, conflict, migration and social inequality;
- Develop practical skills required for graduate careers in the global heritage industry or wider roles as an interdisciplinary social science graduate;
- Receive hands-on training in heritage skills, including object- and field-based research, developing and staging exhibitions, collections management and care, natural and cultural heritage management, digital heritage, and working with communities;
- Gain valuable qualitative and quantitative research skills;
- Develop strong critical thinking skills and the ability to approach major contemporary global challenges in new and creative ways;
- Work with diverse groups of people and strengthen communication and presentation skills
- Learn to work independently and develop your own interests;
- Complete a placement with a heritage institution or other organisation to gain valuable work-based experience and develop connections with employers; and
- Graduate with a strong interdisciplinary social science skillset that can be applied in a range of careers within and beyond the heritage sector.
