UCL Qatar
UCL Qatar is a unique partnership between UCL, Qatar Foundation and Qatar Museums Authority. As part of the long-term collaboration, UCL Qatar supports activities of Ancient Merv Project in different research areas.
The World Monuments Fund
The World Monuments Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of historic art and architecture worldwide through fieldwork, advocacy, grant-making, education, and training. Since 1965, the New York-based World Monuments Fund has worked with local communities and partners to stem the loss of more than 430 irreplaceable sites in 83 countries including Ancient Merv in Turkmenistan.
Amongst several important activities, the WMF has supported the training progammes that were held at Ancient Merv in 2005.
The J.M. Kaplan Fund, Inc.
The J.M. Kaplan Fund, Inc is a family foundation, providing financial support for three grant programs; Environment, Historic preservation and Human migrations. Each year the Fund works with the World Monuments Fund to compose a short list of international historic sites of special importance or under imminent threat. The recent focus has been on endangered sites in Islamic nations. The J.M Kaplan Fund has for example supported the training programmes that were undertaken at Ancient Merv in June 2005, with the support and administration of the World Monuments Fund.
American Express
American Express Company, the founding sponsor of the World Monuments Watch, has committed itself to help preserve the sites on the Watch List of the World Monuments Fund with the support and administration of the WMF.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council
The Arts and Humanities Reserach Council (AHRC) supports research within subject domains from traditional humanities subjects. The AHRC supported the development of an international teaching and study collection of ceramics, with fabric & type-series, comparative collections, etc, providing an on-line database, published catalogues and discussion and handing collections in the Institute of Archaeology and Turkmenistan.
The Max van Berchem Foundation
The
Max van Berchem Foundation is a scientific foundation established
in Geneva, Switzerland, in memory of Max van Berchem (1863-1921),
the founder of Arabic epigraphy. Its aim is to promote the study
of Islamic and Arabic archaeology, history, geography, art, epigraphy,
religion and literature.
The CyArk Foundation
The CyArk Foundation is a non-profit entity whose mission is to digitally preserve cultural heritage sites through collecting, archiving and providing open access to data created by laser scanning, digital modeling, and other state-of-the-art technologies.
