Art History and Social Theory

Jeremy Tanner is involved in a long term project which explores the boundaries and relationships between art historical and sociological theory. In part the project is historiographical, tracing the relationships between intellectual traditions and their major representatives.

In part it is reconstructive, seeking to revive and develop lost syntheses of art history and social theory as frameworks for critical interdisciplinary research in both fields today.
