Rui, resident expert in Chinese archaeological heritage management. Her translation skills are second to none and she is the key component in liaising with our Chinese partners, as well as supplying the CAAL office with baked goods and a cheery disposition.

Yunxiao, current research on understudied oases sites of the Silk Routes in Xinjiang (her native province). Focusing on the management and sustainable use of such places, her analysis of desert landscapes is invaluable to the project, along with her intrepid spirit.
