Profile

The Silk Roads: A case study in serial transboundary protection and management

This research uses the case of the recently inscribed (2014) Silk Roads heritage in China and Central Asia to explore the theory and approaches to transboundary management and serial heritages (cultural routes/cultural landscapes). In particular, it focuses on the transboundary World Heritage nomination process, and the subsequent management of the nominated properties.
