Profile

Climate change and the future of European heritage

This research will investigate how climate change is being engaged in the work of a variety of heritage managers and policy makers in a number of different countries. I will do this by documenting and comparing the ways in which they are responding to, engaging with, or attempting to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Part of the project involves two periods seconded at two different heritage organizations; Historic England and the Swedish National Heritage Board. These organisations will simultaneously function as case studies for the research.

Eventually, the project will aim at creating a comparative study of the ways heritage agencies respond to global warming, and will try to encourage social learning and knowledge exchange across the sector.
