The Somali Week Festival has run for three decades in London. For the 2024 event, Sada Mire has been asked to headline and launch the Festival with an in-conversation style event, entitled 'Creative Worlds and the Environment.' This event will take place at the British Library's Pigott Theatre on Friday 18 October, from 6pm.

Sada will present her work on saving two important archaeological sites -  the palaeolithic site of Naaso-Hablood (sacred peaks), which became the first national park in Somaliland and Aw-Barkhadle, the lost first capital of the medieval Islamic Awdal Kingdom.  Using these sites Sada hopes to address the relationship between cultural expressions, the deep past and the environment.

The Somali funk band of the 1980s, DurDur, will play after the conversation while other special guests will also participate in the event.
