Job Vacancy: Teaching Fellow in Heritage & Museum Studies (full-time)
17 September 2019
The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a full-time Teaching Fellow in Heritage and Museum Studies (Ref.:1822003). The deadline for applications is 19 October 2019.
A full-time Teaching Fellow is sought to assist with teaching core and option courses to postgraduate students and contributing more generally to the organisation of teaching in the UCL Institute of Archaeology as required, working closely alongside the MA in Cultural Heritage Studies and MA in Museum Studies Coordinators, and other Heritage Section staff. This will include coordinating and lecturing on core and optional courses, designing and running taught practicals, supervising dissertation training and research, marking assignments, organising and leading taught field visits, and assisting in student recruitment and the content and monitoring of the placements.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage studies, museum studies, or related field, with a specific focus on heritage and/or museums, along with teaching experience at Masters level. The successful candidate will need to be prepared to respond flexibly to teaching needs across the section, which will likely involve different teaching responsibilities from term to term over this period. Candidates will have professional experience in the heritage and/or museum sector, in the UK or abroad.
Although not essential, it would be an advantage for candidates to have demonstrable experience of producing publications or other research outputs as research led teaching is a key requirement for this role.
The post is available from 1 January to 31 December 2020 in the first instance.
