Come and craft for a good cause! Join our fun night of crafts on Wednesday 29 March 2023 to help us raise money for our exhibition at UCL and our drop-in event at the Science Museum, London.

Come along and learn how to weave and make origami while exploring the massive impact that crafts have had on science.

The weaving activity shows you how to make your own weaving loom out of cardboard which you will then use to weave a piece of fabric, following binary code instructions!

The origami activity will face the challenge that confronted Kyoro Miura in 1996, who had to fit two 50m2 wide solar panels into a small spacecraft. You will have the opportunity to make different origami spaceships that will compete in a space race to see whose plane can fly the furthest!

Don't forget to take your creations home at the end of the night so you can remember and even recreate the fun!

Please be aware that if you attend this event our team may be observing and recording your participation in the tasks. Your help will provide information to support the development of our event at the Science Museum. All participants will be invited to the opening event of our exhibition (that this fundraiser is partially funding). If you do not wish to participate, please inform us on the night to ensure your data is not recorded.
