History:Formerly incorporated in the paving in front of St Columba's shrine.

Allen/Anderson/1903, 398, describes it as in the enclosure at the W end of the Cathedral (i.e. Abbey).

Macalister/1949, 192, described it as lying in the enclosure known as `St Columb'a bed'.

Now in the Nunnery Museum.

RCAHMS/1982, 187: `a ringed cross with rounded and sunken armpits; the shaft has a rectangular base, and is ornamented with two pairs of lenticular depressions, the lower pair being enclosed within a bulbous expansion'.
