Site Notes

Moore/2001, 33: `the site ... contains the wall footings of a medieval church, a bullaun, part of a quern, a holed stone and numerous architectural fragments. ... The site is on the lower western slope of Slieve Gamph, east of the Moy and in the barony of Gallen. Kilgarvan itself is said to have been founded by St Fechin of Fore, a Connact man, in the seventh century, but this inscription would seem to imply that the site was in existence before Fechin'.
